When you build with SIPs, your home or building may stay warmer, longer.

How long will it take for the temperature in your home or business to drop when the power goes off? With SIP construction, your home or building may stay warmer, longer. One added benefit of building with SIPs is heat retention—the ability of a building to maintain a comfortable temperature over more extended periods

There are a couple of reasons for this.

  • The continuous envelope of insulation, with fewer thermal breaks. The Enercept SIPs system results in a solid envelope of insulation where even the connection posts have a foam core. Therefore, Enercept SIPs have the ability to resist heat transfer by both conduction and convection (air movement). With this in mind, it is reasonable to assume that a conventional home would require an R-40 wall to compare with a 6-inch Enercept wall .
  • The air-tight performance quality of SIP construction means less air leakage – up to 85 percent less – depending on your climate.

The design flexibility, unique performance properties, exceptional strength, combined with the energy and labor saving potential, make structural insulated panels an important twenty-first-century building material.
